Beschrijving
Used in abrasives, polishing, grinding. It is widely applied in applications calling for high endurance, such as automobile brakes, car clutches and ceramic plates in bulletproof vests. Electronic applications of silicon carbide are the light-emitting diodes and sensors. It is utilitarian for the production of fertile, transgenic maize plants. Silicon carbide whiskers and zirconium diboride ceramic, compositely play an important role in crack-healing behavior.
