Securely store and track samples in Thermo Scientific™ Matrix™ Open-Top Tri-coded tubes. Tubes feature permanent, high contrast 2D barcodes on the bottom, plus 1D linear barcodes with human readable text on the side. Tubes are available in bulk packs or in barcoded latch racks. Barcoded latch racks feature a linear barcode, 2D barcode, and human readable rack identification on three sides of the rack. Use in combination with Thermo Scientific™ Matrix™ SepraSeal and DurSeal capping systems and the Thermo Scientific™ VisionMate™family of barcode readers.

Secure Tracking

• A unique 2D barcode is laser-etched onto the base of every polypropylene open top tube to securely identify and track samples.
• Non-proprietary 2D codes can be scanned in less than a second in VisionMate High Speed for fast decoding and sample tracking.
• Tubes feature linear barcode, human readable ID and 2D barcode for ultimate sample tracking

Robust Storage Rack Design

• Matrix 2D barcoded open top storage tubes come racked in 96-format in a proprietary specially-designed, stackable, ANSI footprint.
• Latch racks save precious space in your freezer, refrigerator, compound store or on the bench top.
• The latch rack design enables manual multichannel pipette access to 2D tubes and eliminates contamination risk with lid design that does not contact the benchtop.
• The latch rack lid can be lifted robotically for 2D tube access with automated liquid handling systems and high throughput applications

Recycling Information

Matrix tubes, tube racks and covers are made from polypropylene copolymer and are recyclable in communities where polypropylene is recycled. Please recycle only clean, dry components that have been decontaminated of any hazardous materials or residues. The orange nylon rack latches must be removed from the tube rack base and discarded before recycling the rack base. Tip: orange latches can be removed with relative ease with the aid of pliers.

Matrix tubes are delivered in high graphic paper cartons. Please recycle the paper cartons and product inserts.
